Being Creative...

I have been finding images and inspiration in a number of places lately.
One of my new favorites is "1000 Artist Journal Pages". It is a fantastic collection of artist journals. I have spent hours looking at it, and still have not seen everything!

Today, I have bounced around between mediums. I'm still avoiding the paint. Not sure why, but I think about it and then purposely find something else to work on. Maybe I will give it a try once I am finished with my classes this semester. There is always Christmas break, right?

The two things I did get to:
Clay trinkets with under glaze. Fired and ready for clear over glaze. Love a few of the designs that "just happened" today.
Paper butterflies. I'm obsessed with them and listed a few more in my etsy shop.
(both are being sold without frames, so you can customize them to your own decor)

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday and that your weekend was restful :)

Creative Inspiration

I was toodling around on the internet this evening.
Finding things that make me happy.
Sites that inspire creativity.
Things to save and show my art students so that I can help them light their creative fires.
Just thought I would share some of the things I enjoyed this evening :)

Sweet Dreams :)

Try, Try Again...

It's been a very long time since I scrapbooked for eBay. It's been a long time since I scrapbooked at all. I don't know where the urge came from this weekend, but I just wanted to play with paper.

Here is what I created (and I have more ideas floating...just figuring out how to get them out still).

You can find it on my eBay here: Dec. 25th

Here's hoping that someone else wants it as much as I do :) I want to have time and motivation to be creative again, and unfortunately, that drive gets boosted when I know someone else enjoys my work! It's a vicious cycle I tell you...

I have been a single parent for 3 days now, and it is time for my husband to come home so I can get a decent nights sleep. I think the kids are ready for a real meal too. No more leftovers or "quick" food. Other wise, life has been quiet and routine. I think we are settling in for winter :)

Have a great Wednesday! The week is almost over!!

Always,

A Perfect Sunday...

I was worried that I wouldn't get a chance to rejuvenate this weekend. Today, however, has been perfect.
There has been time to:
  • sit and browse for creative inspiration
  • too much coffee (is there such a thing?)
  • snacking instead of meal preparation
  • creative endeavors
  • and I am now heading off to read and soak in a hot bath!
I made two things today. One that brings a smile to my face and a contentment to my heart. Another that makes me pause and reflect. A little darker, but still beautiful in it's own way.
Delight:

Grains of Golden Sand
(provoked by Fauna, titled after Edgar Allen Poes' poem)

You can find them both on in my Etsy shop. I have also included a portion of the poem if you have never read it :)

Off to read.
Happy Sunday!

Butterflies and Smoke

This was my latest burst of creativity: Butterflies and Smoke. I am really excited to make a few more, but with different color combinations.

I have been waffling between paper arts and ceramics, and the paper is really making me happy. The problem is when I have so many ideas in my head, and no time to put them on paper *grr*

Over the years, I have come to the conclusion that sharing my creations with others makes me happy. One way to do that is to give it away (my family members are usually on the receiving end frequently). Another way is to sell. So, I have listed some items on eBay again. Crossing my fingers that I am found...and that someone will enjoy the items I create :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I plan to spend tomorrow being creative. It's been a while!

Always,
Rhoda
